The Yukata in Your Ryokan Room. Wrap It the Wrong Way and You Are Dressed Like the Dead.
To say It's the other way around. in Japanese, say 逆ですよ (gyaku desu yo).
That yukata folded on your ryokan bed? Wrap it the wrong way round and you are dressed the way Japan dresses the dead.
Why this phrase
Kofuku has just put on the yukata from his ryokan room and closed it left side under, right side on top, which is 左前, the direction used only for the deceased. Hana spots it, says 逆ですよ, and gives him the fix that actually sticks: your right side goes against your body first, left side comes over the top, so you can still slide your right hand flat into the front opening. Hana plays the friend already dressed correctly, Kofuku plays the tourist who got it backwards. The real risk moment is dressing yourself at a ryokan or hotel, not a rental shop where staff dress you.
