Japanese shelf tags carry two prices: 税抜, the price before tax, and 税込, the price with tax. Since 2021 the tax included total has to be shown, so it is always somewhere on the tag, but drugstores and discount shops print the pre tax number big because it looks cheaper. 税込 is the number the register charges.
