- ぎんなんの実を踏まないでください。 Ginnan no mi o fumanaide kudasai. Please don't step on the ginkgo fruit.
Why this phrase
Female ginkgo trees drop fruit from about mid-September. The smell is the soft yellow outer coat on the sidewalk, not the cleaned nut and not the yellow leaves. Tokyo's leaf canopy is still later, around late November. Signs already say ぎんなんの実を踏まないでください. One phrase only: don't step on that fruit. Do not turn this into a kanji-reading lesson and do not make a second autumn-leaves video. 紅葉 is already covered.
