Why this phrase
Ryokan front desk at check-in. Kōfuku plays the guest. Hana plays the staff. Dinner is served in the room, not the hall, and the guest has to ask 夕食はお部屋ですか before wandering off. The empty hall is on purpose. Not the no-meal stay, and not a room-change request.
