Why this phrase
A city garden gate on 14 Oct 2026. Hana works the gate. Kōfuku already paid, and he came for red leaves. Tokyo and Kyoto are still green. Nikko and Kamikochi are approaching peak, and the Alpine Route is at peak. まだ早いです means the leaves at this gate are early. It does not mean go away, and it does not mean every mountain in Japan is green.
