Why this phrase
A konbini checkout role-play. Hana plays the clerk asking 「袋はいりますか」 (do you need a bag?); Kōfuku plays the tourist politely declining with 「袋はいりません」, or the softer 「大丈夫です」. Since 2020 plastic bags are paid, so declining saves a few yen and some plastic.
