Why this phrase
POV: day four, your pocket is a coin avalanche, and you decide to dump it at a konbini register. Kofuku plays the customer emptying his palm; Hana plays the clerk. The reveal is a real law, stated precisely: Japan's Currency Act caps legal tender at twenty coins PER DENOMINATION, so a shop can refuse your twenty-first one-yen coin while still having to take twenty ten-yen coins on the same bill. Say the reality out loud too: in practice shops almost always accept them, the law is a right to refuse, not a ban. The rescue is the one short question that turns dumping coins into asking politely.
