Asking a Japanese shop for your money back usually gets you a very polite no. Asking for this usually doesn't.

Why this phrase
Kofuku plays a shopper back at the counter with the wrong size; Hana plays the shop staff. Refunds are not the default in Japan and sale tags often say 返品不可, no returns. An exchange is a different conversation: bring the receipt, keep the tags on, go back quickly, and most shops will sort you out. It's shop policy, not national law, so ask, don't demand.
