Who writes these guides

I'm Jimu, and I write Kōfuku's travel-Japanese guides. Kōfuku started from a simple frustration: most "learn Japanese" resources hand tourists grammar drills when what they actually need, the day they land, is a handful of phrases that work in the konbini, the restaurant, and the station.

So that's what these guides are. Phrase-first, tuned for travelers and beginners, in the same warm, dry, encouraging voice as the videos.

Why you can trust the Japanese here

Every Japanese line that ships is independently checked for grammar, naturalness, politeness level, and beginner-fit before it goes live, and the romaji is written to match how the phrase is actually said. If a line is even slightly off, it doesn't ship.

The same honesty applies to recommendations. When something genuinely helps a trip, I'll say so; when you probably don't need it (the nationwide rail pass is the classic example), I'll say that too. Saying "skip this" builds more trust than blanket enthusiasm, and trust is the whole point.
