To say I left something behind in Japanese, say 忘れ物をしました (wasuremono o shimashita).
You realize your bag is still on the train. In Japan, that's weirdly fixable.

- 電車に荷物を忘れた…!? 大丈夫、なんとかなる。 Densha ni nimotsu o wasureta…!? Daijōbu, nantoka naru. Left your bag on the train?! In Japan — breathe, this is fixable.
- 駅員さんに「忘れ物をしました」と言おう。 Eki'in-san ni “wasuremono o shimashita” to iō. Tell a station attendant: 'wasuremono o shimashita' — I left something.
- 「忘れ物」は forgotten thing。覚えておこう。 "Wasuremono" wa forgotten thing. Oboete okou. "Wasuremono" = forgotten thing. Good to remember.
- 何の電車か、時間も伝えるといいよ。 Nan no densha ka, jikan mo tsutaeru to ii yo. Tell them which train and roughly what time — it helps a lot.
